The Project:

Mataram capital of Lombok. The village has limited facilities and infrastucture
but there is electricity and water supply.

but there are lack of English teachers. During weekdays you will teach English
in schools and for community (youth). On weekend we have activity for children

The village:
The village lies on higher part of Gunung Sari
area so the air is fresh and a bit cool at night. As villagers, their standard
is basic but it’s clean and provide enough comfort but don’t expect any luxury.
There are nice waterfall and river in the village for you to enjoy. The street
is good until certain point, but the way to the waterfall is still soil. Going
to river, you will pass farm and rice fields.
Local clinics is nearby, they provide basic medicine.
The people:
They mostly work as farmers, grow rice,
coconuts, fruits and other commodities. The people are humble, being lived in a
place with limited facilities and infrastructure. Yet, they live in harmony to
each other and off course they would love to welcome volunteers from other
countries. It's no surprise that volunteers will get invitations from locals,
and it's really nice to sit with them, have a casual chat and they will serve
you delicious traditional snacks and Lombok coffee or even fresh picked young
coconut to show hospitality.
